The Cedar River::
Currently WATERSHEDSUNITE is focusing its research on the Cedar
River Watershed. It is our goal to create a historic archive centered
on the waters of the Cedar River and how we know them. In the past
five years we have traveled the river and have
began an historic documentation of 'on the water' footage using
digital video. In addition we have compiled hours of video
and audio interviews, as well as a unique collection of historical
documents and photos. In 2005 we released a 50 minute DVD/VHS Video
Documentary 'Our River, The Cedar:
Linn Co. Edition'which features a downstream look at the Cedar
River in Linn County Iowa coupled with selected interviews and commentary.

In September 2006...
we
completed a 14 day 300+ mile exploration of the Cedar River from
near its source in Austin, Minnesota to its confluence with the
Iowa River in Columbus Jct., Iowa. Traveling by canoe, project leader
James Martin and assistant Brian Emerson gathered 'on the water
footage' to help document the physical state of the Cedar River
in its entirety.
The video has been submitted for consideration to
the Iowa Independent Film Festival, The Hardacre Film Festival, and the
Landlocked Film Festival.
-We have decided that the first 40 copies of our
the video will be available for the price of $5.(Email:
watershedsunite@hotmail.com) This will pay for our materials as well as
shipping and handling. We hope to create a revolving fund in which the
fees collected and additional donations will go directly to duplication
and distribution costs. We want to share our story with all those
interested.
-In addition the video will be available on You Tube on March 22nd, 2011.
